Rotterdam brought together six musicians from Italy, Malta, Slovenia and Holland to create a collection of groove-based tunes that respond to a diversity of influences. Mirror People and Sketch of a Daydream build their climax via danceable soul jazz licks from the group's windworks. Sandstones is the sextet's tribute to Fela Kuti. What's Gonna Kill Me First blends cosmic jazz with Japanese fusion. Their 80s pop imprints fit very well with their music label Wicked Wax who has made a name for releasing genre-blending records combining pop, broken beat, hip hop and jazz.
