Just like beer, the Dutch (and probably the German also) have a knack for creating a plethora of dance music. The gabber, EDM, house, etc.....all contribute to the rich club culture in Holland. And it is of no surprise that other music genres evolve with a dance music infection.
WAAN is a duo formed by Bart Wirtz and Emiel van Rijthoven. There is no shame in them to lay down ten disco-indebted jazz funk numbers in their debut album. Strong groove-based syntax, being almost a signature of modern jazz in Europe, can be heard throughout the album. 
The Netherlands has grown it's popularity as a country where people go for jazz studies, institutions such as the Conservatorium and Codarts have attracted many talents from overseas. One would only expect more genre-blending music when the tolerance-steeped DNA collides with their strong club culture.
