Imagine Giving Up is that record you listen to before you jump. Most of the songs are structured around one chord with the Brooklyn-based Jonah Parzen-Johnson's saxophone and synth. The repetitive phrasing is linear and minimalistic, enabling that much needed reflection before the resolve. Parzen-Johnson has become a unique voice out of the New York jazz scene, joining force as part of this loosely-defined ambient jazz movement including contemporaries such as Sam Gendel, Anenon and Cole Pulice.
