Brian Allen Simon, a.k.a. Anenon, lays down his vulnerability in an immediate and arresting album to address personal loss and grievance. All coming out of improvisation made up of saxophone, piano, electronics and field recordings, the album is an exercise of self reflection. The tenor saxophone lines talk of an emotion of loss that does not settle, while the piano appregio reaffirms life's inevitability. Anenon essentializes himself in this ambient jazz movement that enables the jazz language to evolve and modernize.
