Mount Analogue is the 35th album from the prolific guitar virtuoso Shin Sasakubo. Sasakubo has been releasing music under his own Chichibu label, named after his home town and founded after immersing himself with South American music education in Peru. Like many of his other works, Mount Analogue is an organic soundscape of nature. The protégé of Peruvian music has a long history of collaboration with other contemporary artists, most notably abstract jazz cat Sam Gendel from California. This time around he teamed up with piano player Deangelo Silva, Rhodes player Josef Dumoulin, bassist Frederico Heliodoro, drummer Gabriel Bruce and singer Florencia Ruiz. The result is a celebration of nature's magic via Sasakubo's jazz rendition of the Andean and Peruvian music.
