There is no public information about this We Jazz release. Based on some hints heard from the record and scanty bit of internet coverage, it is believed that this is a live recording from the 2019 Sonic Transmission Festival (spearheaded by Ingebrigt Håker Flaten) held in Austin, Texas.
The band was a trio of saxophone, electric bass and drum. The lineage of free and avant garde jazz is obvious. Nevertheless, there is an indie vibe to the seven live tracks, credited to the rhythm section by the bassist and drummer. And all the modal tension is provided by the reed player.
The educated guess is that this is one of the many lineups of the James Brandon Lewis trio, in this live performance down in American south paying their tribute to one of the most popular tracks from Miles Davis' Kind of Blue.
