Music as metaphor of history. It keeps revolving, repeating at times but never exactly the same. Cape Town jazz drummer Asher Gamedze's compositions construct the ebbs and flows of history, often referencing the African's struggles. The LP contains three live tracks recorded in Cairo during the first year of the pandemic in 2020. With a different line-up, the mood morphs into psychedelia from the more contemporary jazz construct in the first ten studio tracks. Turbulence and Pulse is jointly released by Chicago's International Anthem and Johannesburg's Mushroom Hour Half Hour.
